Critical Incidents Report for April 2025

In April, TMPA opened 13 case files for critical incidents Critical incidents are cases in which an officer’s actions, conduct, or omissions resulted in the death or serious bodily injury of a person; or could have resulted in such harm as a result of the officer intentionally discharging his or her firearm. These critical incidents involved members from various agencies throughout the state including: 235th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Allen Police Department, Arlington Police Department, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department, Cedar Park Police Department, Grand Prairie Police Department, Harris County Sheriff's Department, Huntsville Police Department, Killeen Police Department, Robstown Police Department, Texas DPS, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and include the following:


1. Attorney Lee Hon assisted member who was involved in a pursuit that ended in death of suspect.

2. Member was involved in an in-custody death. Robert McCabe assisted member.

3. Attorney Lance Wyatt assisted member who was involved in an in-custody death.

4. Attorney Andy Stinson assisted member who was involved in a pursuit that ended in a shooting.

5. Attorney Randall Moore assisted member who was involved in a use of force incident that resulted in possible death of suspect.

6. During an operation to arrest a fugitive, member shot and killed a dog. Attorney Amanda Bolin assisted member.

7. Attorney Robert Rogers assisted member who was involved in a shooting during a traffic stop.

8. Member was involved in a shooting involving an active shooter who was firing at police. Attorney Marsha Todd assisted member.

9. Member responded to a vicious dog call. When dog charged at officers, member fired duty weapon several times, scaring the dog away. Attorney Eric Perkins assisted member.

10. Four other critical incidents involving an on-duty shooting (Attorneys who assisted include Eric Perkins, Travis Williamson, Chad Hyde, Lance Wyatt)
