TMPA Wins!
February – 2021

We would like to share some of the recent legal successes TMPA has had for our members. In this report, we will give the names of the attorneys who represented our members but omit the names of the members involved.

Paul G. Aman – Paul G. Aman, Attorney at Law, P.C.
  • Member was passed over for promotion at a civil service department. After appeal and review, member was promoted and case was closed.

Gregory Cagle – Gregory Cagle, Atty at Law, P.C.
  • Member was given a General discharge on F5. After appeal, an Administrative Law Judge ordered F5 be amended to reflect an Honorable Discharge.

David Parent – David A. Parent, Attorney at Law
  • Members were involved in vehicle pursuit and shooting that ended with the suspect being shot. Upon review, the members were found to have complied with policy and the law. Members returned to duty and case was closed.

Tray Payne – Tray Payne & Associates, PLLC
  • Member was terminated and received a General discharge on F5 for not properly documenting reports. After appeal, F5 was amended to reflect an Honorable discharge and the case was closed.

Robert Rogers – Lyon, Gorsky, Gilbert, LLP
  • Members were placed under IA and each given a 32-hour suspension for missing evidence and policy violations. After appeal, each member’s suspension was reduced to a written reprimand with back pay ordered by the city.

Andy Stinson – Ramey & Flock, PC
  • Member was involved in an on-duty shooting. After review, the member was no billed by the Grand Jury and the case was closed.

John Wolf – Wolf & Stallings, PLLC
  • Member was involved in an on-duty shooting. After review, the member was no billed by the Grand Jury and the case was closed.
  • Member was involved in an on-duty shooting while executing a search warrant. The suspect opened fire, resulting in return fire from member and other officers. Upon review, the member was no billed and the case was closed.
  • Member was involved in an on-duty shooting. Upon review, the member was no billed and the case was closed.
  • Member was involved in and on-duty shooting. Upon review, the member was no billed and the case was closed.
  • Member was placed under IA for excessive use of force. Upon review, the allegation was dropped and case was closed.
  • Member was placed under IA for policy violations. Upon review, member received verbal counseling and case was closed.
  • Member was involved in an on-duty shooting. After review, the member was no billed and the case was closed.
