TMPA Wins!
February – 2022


We would like to share some of the recent legal successes TMPA has had for our members. In this report, we will give the names of the attorneys who represented our members but omit the names of the members involved.

Paul G. Aman – Paul G. Aman, Attorney at Law, P.C.
• Member was placed under IA for conduct unbecoming an officer. Upon review, member was exonerated of any wrongdoing, and the case was closed.
• Member was denied pay increases as agreed upon by agency. After a Breach of Contract Demand Letter was issued, member received back wages and the case was closed.
• Member was given a general discharge on F5. Upon appeal, the Administrative Law Judge ordered the F5 be amended to reflect an honorable discharge and the case was closed.

Gregory Cagle – Gregory Cagle, Atty at Law, P.C.
• Members were involved in an on-duty shooting. Upon review, members were cleared by the DA and the case was closed.
• Member was placed under IA for workplace harassment. Upon review, member was cleared by the chief and the case was closed.
• Member was terminated for false arrest. After appeal, the discipline was reduced to a 3-day suspension, and the case was closed.

Chad Hyde – Gregory A. Richards, P.C
• Member was placed under IA for covering for a fellow deputy regarding working an extra job. Upon review, member was not disciplined, and the case was closed.
• Member was placed under IA for excessive force. Upon review, no action was taken against member and the case was closed.
• Member was given a general discharge on F5. Upon appeal, the Administrative Law Judge ordered the F5 be amended to reflect an honorable discharge and the case was closed.

Ray Thomas – Attorney at Law
• Member was involved in a pursuit that ended with a possible fatality. Upon review, member was cleared with no policy violations, and the case was closed.
