Friday. The Basic Police Instructor Course (TCOLE #1014) is a comprehensive 40-hour program designed to prepare Texas peace officers, jailers, or telecommunicators with at least two years of experience to become effective instructors. The course covers essential topics such as:
- Instructional techniques: Developing effective teaching methods and strategies.
- Lesson planning: Creating structured and engaging lesson plans.
- Communication skills: Enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication for better classroom management.
- Evaluation methods: Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback.
Upon successful completion, participants will be certified to instruct within their agencies and training academies.
