Statement from TMPA Executive Director Kevin Lawrence:
"Is it possible that the Administration and the leadership of the Democratic Party are finally starting to listen? With skyrocketing crime rates and unprecedented attacks on our law enforcement officers, our partners at the National FOP have been wearing out horses working on your behalf. A few weeks ago, the media “leaked” a story that President Biden was preparing to issue some executive orders dealing with police reform. We, of course, immediately reached out to National FOP President Pat Yoes and Vice-President Joe Gamaldi, and were assured that they were already deeply involved in this issue. And now we see evidence that the tide may be turning just a little.
This is indicative of how important it is that we remain active and diligent in communicating with our citizens at every level – local, state and federal – to make sure the truth is getting out to combat the anti-law enforcement rhetoric and hyperbole that have been pushed by too many for too long. It has never been more important for us to team up, combine our resources and our talents, and work together."
